Based in our Central Regional Office in Te Papaioea you will be part of a wider team of professionals who work towards delivering employment outcomes across the Ministry's strategic plans. Our regional operations team is supportive and welcoming and works to add value to the organisation through a high level of performance
In this role you will help New Zealanders to be safe, strong and independent through employment by supporting the Regional Commissioner, providing a professional executive support service. This position is more than just diary management. Yes, you'll be providing the usual email and meeting management services, but we are looking for an EA who is confident leading regional governance practices, self-managing, comfortable managing multiple deadlines and has an unflappable approach in difficult situations. We are looking for someone who shows great initiative and is a fast learner.
You will be encouraged to add value and need to be intuitive to the Regional Commissioner's needs and pitch in where needed. Your approachability and excellent interpersonal communication skills will ensure you can confidently work with a variety of partners and leaders across Iwi, the Public Service and community. You will be exposed to sensitive information and high levels of confidentiality, so integrity and trust in this position is vital.
The Regional Commissioner you will be responsible to is professional, hardworking, and focused on delivering a large work programme. Enthusiastic and forthright, they expect a high level of support when required. You will need to be a self-initiator who is two steps ahead to support the Regional Commissioner's varied and fast paced work programme.
